If this sounds like your house, keep reading.

The screaming that won't stop

30 minutes. Sometimes an hour. You tried staying calm, you tried getting firm, you tried bribes. Nothing works, so you stand there and wait it out. Then you lie in bed replaying it.

You lie awake wondering if it gets worse

If they scream like this at 4, what happens at 16? You'd never say it out loud. But you've thought it more than once, usually around 11pm.

Going anywhere feels risky

Grandma's house. A restaurant. The vacation you paid for. You're constantly stressed out and waiting for the loudest tantrum moment to happen.

You and your partner fight about it

One of you gives in. The other gets strict. Your kid figures out which parent to go to, and now it's you arguing with your partner about who's right and who's wrong.

You never know how your kid will behave

Some days they listen. Some days it's a war before breakfast. Not only can't predict it, but you don't know what to do about it.

You're good at everything except this

You've got the career, the money, the house. Then you walk in the door and a 5-year-old makes you feel like you're failing at the one thing that matters most: parenting.

None of this makes you a bad parent. Most of us were only ever taught to react in the moment. The truth is, you just need better approach, and Mike will teach you that.

Mike Wallach with his family

I do this for a living. My own daughter still had me stumped.

Our second daughter had the loudest scream I've ever heard. And she could hold it. Thirty minutes. An hour. At two, at four, at five.

My wife and I actually talked about getting her professional help. Weird conversation, because I'm the professional help. I'm a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, one of fewer than 100,000 in the world, and I work with the toughest kids anyone can send me. And I was lying awake wondering what this would look like when she was 16.

What finally worked wasn't a better way to handle the meltdown. It was teaching her the skills the meltdown was about. Hearing no. Waiting. Giving something up. We practiced when she was calm and nothing was on the line. The screaming got shorter, then rarer. The house went from always on edge to just chill.

That's the RIGHT Framework. I use it all day at work and every night with my own four kids. They're not perfect. They're about 80% good, which is exactly the goal.

  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst
  • Former classroom teacher
  • Master's in education
  • Dad of four
  • 10+ years with families

Build the skill outside the moment.

You can't teach a kid to swim while they're drowning. You can't teach them to handle “no” in the middle of a meltdown either. So you practice when the stakes are low. Small reps, on good days. Then when dinner blows up, the skill is already there. It all runs on five moves:

  1. R

    Redirect

Catch it at the whine, not the scream. Point them at something they can do instead.

  2. I

    Ignore

Stop paying attention to the whining and backtalk you don't want more of.

  3. G

    Give two choices

"Shoes or jacket first?" They get a say. You still pick the options.

  4. H

    Harness their motivation

Use what they already want as the reason to cooperate. You set the terms, they still want in.

  5. T

    Teach the appropriate behavior

Practice the skill while everyone's calm, so it's there when someone isn't.

High standards, said warmly, in plain English. “No” still means no, whining doesn't change that. And you walk away with something to actually do, not just an explanation for why the tantrum happened.

Half the fight isn't with your kid.

It's the look across the kitchen. One of you thinks the other caves too fast. The other thinks you're too harsh. Your kid figured out the gap months ago, and goes straight to whoever's softer.

The RIGHT Framework doesn't pick a side, it hands both of you the same five moves and the same words. Your kid gets one set of rules, and you stop replaying the argument after lights out.

Join together. Show up to calls together. That's the whole point.

Built for the three fights that run most houses.

01

Tantrums and meltdowns

What to do in the first 60 seconds. What turns a 10-minute meltdown into an hour. And the practice that makes the next one shorter.

02

Not listening

How to ask so it lands the first time, and what to do when it doesn't. No counting to three. No raised voice.

03

Sibling fighting

How to step in without becoming the full-time referee, and how to teach sharing and waiting so they sort more of it out themselves.

What a normal week starts to look like.

About 80% good behavior. Not 100%. The other 20% is a tired, hungry kid being a kid, and now you have the patience for it.

You and your partner say the same things, the same way. Your kid stops shopping for the softer parent.

Restaurants, road trips, and grandma's house go back to being plans, not things you brace for.

Your kid hears "no," waits, and hands the toy back. On a random Tuesday. Without you standing over them.

The house stops feeling on edge. You get to just hang out with your kids again.

What parents say after working with Mike.

“Of these 5 strategies, I think I was using 1.5, and not even in a helpful manner. Mike has been a godsend.”
S

Sean

Corporate leader, two daughters, 5 and 2

“I saw how my own reactions were impacting my daughter's behavior. Mike taught us simple, easy to implement techniques that helped me catch myself before reacting. I saw almost instant changes. My stress has decreased and our relationship is getting stronger.”
C

Chasity

Mom of 1

“After 3 failed attempts with a sleep consultant, Mike was able to coach us to help our 3 year old sleep through the night in his own bed. We are all a happier family because of Mike's program.”
S

Sara

Mom of 2

“The tools and guidance Mike provided has already made me a calmer, more in-control parent who can better understand and respond to my child's behaviors. You are definitely getting a deal, and this course is worth every penny and more.”
B

Becky

Mom of 1

“Mike's 1-page card with the main points is right on the middle of our fridge. Whenever I'm having a hard week I go back, re-read the card, and feel like I have hands-on tools to walk through those moments.”
H

Heidi

Mom of 3, school director

“Before joining Mike's program, we didn't have much success creating the home life we desired. Mike changed our perspective toward our children and allowed us to make the changes to get where we wanted to go.”

This isn't for everyone.

It's for you if

  • You're doing well at work and in life, and home is the one place that feels out of control.
  • You're willing to change a few small things you do, not just wait for your kid to change.
  • You want high standards for your kid, without yelling to get there.
  • You and your partner are tired of arguing about who's right.
  • You'll practice a little on the good days, not only reach for it on the bad ones.

Skip it if

  • You think your kid is the problem and you just want them fixed.
  • You want something that works 100% of the time. Nothing does. We aim for 80%.
  • You want gentle parenting that avoids the word no.
  • Your child is unsafe or in crisis. Get in-person support first.
